"Marlo
is much more than just a postpartum doula, she's a giving person with
bits of advice that come with experience and solid knowledge. She gives
you the boost of confidence and experienced answers all new parents are
looking for. I am a first time mom of beautiful twin boys with no
immediate family in the area. It didn't matter what I read, how many
classes I took, Marlo's words always assured me that it would get
better. Sometimes just knowing that we have a great doula is all we need
when the babies are fussing, not sleeping or eating all the time. Best
of all, she continues to check in with you to see how you're doing and
help you through tough days."
Having a baby is a time of great excitement and anticipation, but
it can also be an overwhelming and exhausting period in one's life and new
parents tend to forget about their own needs. My job is to
help nurture the mom and her family as a teacher, role model, friend
and provider of unconditional support. It is my goal to help you better understand your
baby's needs, encourage you to parent through instinct and guide you
into creating a positive experience in your role as a new parent.
By offering practical assistance and
emotional support, it will enable you to feel more
confident in meeting the challenges a new baby brings. I'll be there
to answer questions and to provide assurance in a gentle,
non-judgemental way.
Statistics prove and Medical Professionals agree that when a woman is supported throughout the postpartum period by a trained,
professional doula, the process is
tremendously more rewarding and less difficult.
Research and studies indicate many benefits of having a postpartum doula including:
• Greater success with breastfeeding.
• Lower risk of postpartum depression.
• Greater self confidence in their parenting skills.
• Greater success in adapting to new family dynamics.
Please note, that although the benefits of using professional birth and postpartum support are documented, I can not guarantee outcomes.
