When you're a birth and postpartum doula, you get to know the families you work with very well in a short period of time. Because I'm entering their home at a rather intimate and vulnerable time in their life, I often find that I'm rooting around in cupboards and drawers during home births or postpartum visits trying to find things instead of overwhelming mom and dad with questions.
One room that I tend to spend a lot of time in is the baby's room as I'm often changing diapers, rocking them to sleep, sorting baby clothes or perhaps folding laundry. I always take note of the cute details that the parents have taken in creating a welcoming, warm and loving space for their little one.
Starting today, I'm introducing a new blog category titled "Stuff I Found While Looking Around". There are just too many cute things and creative ideas that I come across on the job that it only makes sense I share them with you (with permission of course).
You'll notice a very natural and crafty theme for this baby's room which is a pure reflection of her down-to-earth parents.
