Emma's Reviews & Testimonials
Emma was an absolutely indispensable member of our birthing team, and someone I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for doula services.
From our first meeting Emma was warm, knowledgeable and respectful of all of our wishes. Neither my husband nor I had initially been sure that we would need a doula present at our birth, but we're so glad that Emma was there to provide the support and encouragement that we both needed, from start to finish.
The two prenatal visits were very helpful in building our rapport before the big day, as well as creating our birth wishes and walking us through some aspects of birthing that we hadn't previously considered. When I went into labour Emma did a wonderful job helping me with the physical aspects, such as getting into comfortable positions and applying pressure to my hips, while also offering calming words of encouragement to help me stay focused. She was also able to offer the support my husband needed for the duration of my labour.
All in all, I'd love to have Emma present for any future births my new family might be blessed with, and I highly recommend her to anyone considering doula services.

I will tell anyone who will listen to GET A POSTPARTUM DOULA (especially for twins) and pray they have the good fortune to land with someone as compassionate, smart, creative, professional and devoted as Emma. Hands down, our beginning months with our twins would have been an entirely different picture had we not engaged her. Without her steady presence in my fourth trimester my attachment with my babies would not have been so deep, my mental health would not have been as strong and my marriage would not be so intact. Emma came for 2-3 overnight shifts in the beginning, then two, then one and then eventually we graduated from night shifts :) She now comes for short day shifts here and there to keep life outside babies humming along. For me, the GREATEST gift of having a postpartum doula was the unwavering support in my journey towards breastfeeding my twins. After a hazy and pretty hairy whirlwind of syringe and bottle feeding, donor milk, pumping pumping pumping (and more pumping) I was able to breastfeed my twins. Emma was by my side the whole time. It was important to have someone who wasn't related to me to be there. She never judged, she always validated me and she worked with me to get creative as all the many challenges of breastfeeding twins arose. Cash in those RRSPs, sell your fancy road bikes, dip into your savings, take out little loan. TWIN PARENTS NEED POSTPARTUM DOULAS.

I had a solid birth plan. With the help of my Doula and midwife, I was going to birth in a birthing pool, in my apartment, without any drugs, and as far far away from the hospital as possible. It was going to be beautiful! When my water broke, meconium showed up in the water, and that plan was thrown out of the window, as I rushed to the hospital. Having Emma there helping me and my fiancé cope with the stress of being in the hospital, and helping me get through pain, really eased our minds, and made me feel like I was back in control of the my birthing experience. Emma had a very gentle way of helping me understand the profound strength of my body, how to breathe, and gave me helpful coping tactics and information throughout my labor. She also helped my fiancé help me, and relieved him when he got tired. In the end, my midwife and Emma successfully got me through my labor without drugs, just like I wanted. I walked out of the hospital only hours after the birth, with a healthy baby.

Emma and Bunky Bambino came so highly recommended by friends, I basically couldn't say no. We knew we were going to have a c-section and wanted some postpartum support. I had no idea how much I would need Emma until my baby was born - you just have no idea how insane it is until you're IN it. From mental health support and check-ins, to night shifts and sleep support, to making sure my baby could eat (and making sure I was eating too), she helped us with it ALL. I had issues with breastfeeding and Emma was there to help me figure out what we needed to do to make it happen. It took 10 weeks total before we were breastfeeding without support, and if she hadn't been there I would have given up. There is nothing more important than the mental health and wellbeing of the ENTIRE family unit. She easily navigates issues with openness and positivity, comes to solutions quickly and is a truly gifted Doula. We also shared in the joys of a new baby and parenthood with her because we wanted to and she felt like a part of our family. I could go on and on, but please just hurry up and BOOK HER.

Emma surpassed our expectations as the doula supporting the birth of our first child.
Her extensive experience, knowledge, and calm demeanour helped to boost our confidence and comfort level going into such an important life event.
We met with Emma multiple times during the prenatal stage to set expectations and create our birth plan for the big day. She attended the birth of our child and helped to make sure that experience went as smoothly as possible. Finally, during the 4th trimester Emma was available to answer our questions, give us helpful tips and tricks, and guide our transition as new parents.

Emma was our doula when we welcomed our baby girl in April 2020. At the time, we were not sure whether we needed a doula--we had the support of a great midwife team, and we had lined up help from family for after the baby was born. Looking back, I can't imagine how we would have survived without her! Because of the pandemic, our family was not able to visit, and Emma was our only support during labour and the postpartum period. Her presence was grounding and reassuring during an especially stressful time.
Emma was with us throughout labour and delivery and came to visit a few times a week for several weeks after the birth. She was also available by text at all hours during those first few weeks to help with all our anxious new-parent questions. Thank you, Emma!

The Bunky Bambino team were essential during the early months with our twins. With my husband away out of town on many nights for work, it was the overnight postpartum support from Emma and Bri that gave me some extra time for..... another pump session (or two!) and also could allow me some more solid sleep so I could be ready for the next day ahead. Immediately when I met both Emma and Bri, I knew my babies were in safe, caring and experienced hands. Both possess a positive and warm energy that make a new mom feel confident and encouraged (particularly this first time mom!). I appreciated how they made sure I was also well taken care of, in addition to their heartfelt, professional attention to the babies. Bri is a total sweetheart and Emma is full of drive and passion as a care provider.
They will forever be remembered as a part of the village that got us through those first months of twin life!

We hired Emma to help us and our 3-month-old baby for our 3-day wedding on Galiano island.
I truly don't know what we would have done without her.
She took great care of our little guy, which allowed us and our family members to actually enjoy the festivities. She definitely knows what she is doing around babies and it shows in her relaxed and confident attitude with our son. He loved her! Also, she had lots of great baby-related tips for us which we found really helpful as new parents.
Thanks Emma!!!!

Emma is amazing! She was so supportive throughout the birth and beyond. Her wealth of knowledge, compassion and her intuitive nature was exactly what we needed, while her ease and grace was beyond measure as we welcomed our new addition to the world. We were lucky enough to have Emma support our family postpartum as well. She helped us through our first night at home which is something I would highly recommend to any new family. More than just part of our birthing team, “Auntie Em” has quite honestly become like family to us. She is the best and we absolutely love her!

Emma worked with us during labour/delivery and postpartum following the birth of our twins. During labour and delivery she stayed by my side and was a very reassuring and calming presence throughout a long labour and an eventual emergency c-section.
Then, her support for 3 months postpartum was hugely invaluable. We would not have made it through that postpartum time without her! She was with us from 10 pm - 6 am several nights a week. She always listened to what I was struggling with, made great suggestions, fed the twins a bottle of pumped milk when I asked, brought me delicious snacks during nursing sessions, and was truly miraculous at settling both babies to sleep downstairs while I slept upstairs knowing they were in great hands (and I didn't have to listen to them grunt and groan in their sleep, so I actually managed to have restful stretches of sleep!). While we all slept, Emma made lactation cookies, prepped food for the next night's dinner, washed dishes, folded laundry...you name it! Any quiet chores that I needed help with that night. She also gave some extra special attention to our older daughter one morning when she woke up before Emma left - my daughter still talks about how much she liked Emma even now 3+ months later!
Emma's sensitive, caring nature and her seemingly effortless confidence and ability with newborns really made us feel supported throughout those early days / months. Can't recommend her enough!

Where do I start...? Emma was amazing during my pregnancy and birth. She was so down to earth and calming during the entire labour. I couldn't imagine not having her by my side during the birth, especially during COVID. I felt so well supported and heard during my birth experience because Emma was there for us. For postpartum, Emma went the extra effort again to check in on us to see how we were doing. We also had Shania as our postpartum doula. She was also fantastic! She was there for night support and helped immensely with breastfeeding, provided ample reassurance and guidance about my concerns, and made sure we were well rested. I am so happy that we decided to have doula support from Bunky Bambino during pregnancy and postpartum! Best investment ever!

Emma was an incredible presence to have during our birth experience. She put us all at ease and was our staunch advocate at the hospital. I couldn’t more highly recommend a more lovely, knowledgeable or calm person to have by my side before, throughout and after my labour. Her follow up visits after the birth and her offers to come look after the baby so we could get some rest were so thorough and kind. Deciding to have her by our side during this process was one of the best choices we made as parents.

Emma is fantastic. We hired Emma as a postpartum doula for our son Ethan - and she was with us from week one onwards. We call Emma the baby whisperer - she arrived and it was like an angel appeared. She was so calm, and reassuring and so loving - exactly what we needed in such a confusing, sleep deprived crazy time. We love her so much, and still work with her 6 months later! Thank you Emma xoxox

How do people give birth without Bunky Bambino? Such wonderful support, I truly don't know how we would have done it without Emma's unwavering calm and kind reassurance. Emma and Marlo bring a wealth of knowledge, that sets your mind at ease from the very first meeting. Thank you Bunky Bambino.

Emma is so awesome and is such a nice person! She worked as a night doula for us to help out with our twins and she was just amazing. Such a huge help with the girls and a huge help around the house as well (prepping vegetables, meals, folding laundry etc..everything a new mom needs a helping hand with!). I would highly recommend her!

Emma was an amazing doula. Our talks before the birth of our first little human were calming, helpful, and honoured both our questions and our excitement about the wonder and miraculousness of this new life. During the birth - holy moly is that an intense experience! - Emma provided comfort, care, advocacy and support to both mama and dad. She is the best! We love her! I can’t imagine the birth without her calming and grounded presence.

Emma is such a lovely soul. She came into our home after the birth of our second child to help with my postpartum care. When she came in, she went right to work and started tidying and preparing food. She was also a wonderful help with my older daughter and kept her busy so I could rest with the baby. I highly recommend Emma's services!

My partner and I feel incredibly lucky to have had Emma as our guide through the birthing process. Her kind, calm demeanour and her level of knowledge gave us both a great deal of confidence. The day of labour and delivery could not have gone more smoothly because Emma's presence allowed me to focus fully on the process I was in, knowing I had an expert advisor, liaison, and guide at the hospital. I will be giving my highest possible recommendation for Emma to every expectant mother I know.

My partner, son and I have had the best experience with Emma. From helping my wife through delivery, to postpartum night shift help and now daytime help: Emma has been an important and amazing fixture in our family's life.

I felt very fortunate that I had the support of Emma from Bunky Bambino during the birth of our son. Her presence was calming and steady throughout a rather long and intense experience. I think she has a gift for putting both Mums and babies at ease.
We both really appreciated the consultations prior to giving birth as well - these meetings made us feel more confident and prepared. And also the postpartum visit was a lovely bonus for us to have a little time away from the house. Overall the service we received was extraordinary!
