Under the darkness of the night, I headed to Emily & Andrew’s. Walking into a candle-lit bathroom with a sweet belly floating in water, the beginning rolling over Emily. A check-in, TENS drop off and pep talk check-in and off I went. Sometimes the best thing, is to get out of the way and let the oxytocin flow. After a little bit of rest, some hours and things picking up. We met at BC Women’s, with Emily huffing some essential oil (landscape moms unite!). Strength led the way, through admitting, into the bath, and around the room.
Jokes of naming you purely after your weight class rung through the air. Thor, Zephyr, Joah, who will you be? Once at 10cm, the pushing journey began. Time passed and deep, quiet strong pushing went on for a while. As when big decisions need to be made, the room filled, swelling with people and options to take or not. And away they all went, questions answered, time given and options chosen. Some help was given, the most calm, joyous, and grounded welcome was awarded to darling Joah!
