When it came to re-branding Bunky Bambino, I knew in my heart that I wanted to centre our amazing families. They are the backbone and foundation of what makes us tick and the fire in our hearts! In saying so, I wanted to take the time to highlight some of the families you will be seeing on our social media and website. Here we go...

Jenn and David were one of my first clients, met through my mentor Morag as she had a hurt shoulder (damn birth worker injuries!) and needed a spry young thing to come do the heavy lifting.

When I met Jenn, there was an instant connection and openness. She was so welcoming and open to having a "baby Doula" attend her and her partner in her labour journey.

Ironically one of my first births, was one of the births that broke many records in my books, still to this day! The most impressive one being, Jenn working hard for about a week!

We would check the birthday book as every day passed, wondering if the strawberry moon would bring Syd to us. Another day would come, with Jenn and David walking the balcony in circles watching the world go by. Jenn working so hard, while I did the hundredth hip squeeze and night falling. On the seventh day Syd decided to join us, his head full of hair and two sets of arms long awaiting to hold you close.

What a birth, what a mother and what a journey! I am still so honoured to this day, for her kindness and spirit for letting me into her world for the birth and journey to Syd.

Seeing them all at the Farmer's Market, hiking through Lynn Valley or strolling around East Van, still always bring joy to my heart and a huge pang of "what the hell!!!" at Syd and his immeasurable growth.
