What brought me to Doula work: The first birth I attended was as a birth photographer, driving home from that birth I knew that this was it. After witnessing so much beauty and power, I decided to become a doula by completing the Wise Woman Way of Birth doula training. I have now been serving families as a doula for over 8 years.
Tagline: As a doula I find fulfilment not in giving strength to the families I support, but in helping them access the strength they already possess.
My specialty: When I was pregnant with my fourth child, my sister-in-law was simultaneously pregnant with her first. Watching her anxiously prepare for birth and parenting, I longed to impart some of my fourth-time-mom-confidence to her! Confidence to trust your instincts; to nurse your baby to sleep if you want to; to hold your baby tons; to ask for help; to read books, and then throw out what doesn’t sit well with you—to not let the advice of friends, family, or random people on the bus take up too much space in your head. It’s this kind of confidence that I encourage in the families I support.
