What brought me to Doula work: When I was very young, and realized that every person I’d ever meet, was grown in a body and birthed from a body; a thread that connects us to each other, I was hooked... I marvel at the strength of the birthing body, its power, its beauty, its ability to transform. To share in the journey taken with the birth of a baby is a profound & privileged experience. The voyage of birth can result in a potent and precious love. A love that we can positively support and rejoice in.
Tagline: Breathe, Laugh, Dance
My specialty: I encourage the birth giver to navigate their travels as captain of their ship. Midwives, Doctors and Nurses, Doula and the Partner are all support crew to this journey. My role, as Doula, before and during a birth is to create and maintain a safe and grounded environment; through holding space for informed consent for the birth giver, through non-judgemental, empowering emotional support, through non-medical, physical comfort measures including acupressure, and birth dancing. I bring my sensibility that birth is a natural state to be embraced & celebrated.
