The BEST INVESTMENT we ever made was hiring our amazing doulas for postpartum support! In addition to giving us the much-needed rest and help, they have been our rock and guiding light throughout our fourth trimester. We have learned so much from our doulas and they enabled us to feel confident. I especially appreciate how every doula has their own specialty, whether it be reflexology, breastfeeding support, or infant massage. They truly encompass holistic care for new mamas and babies. Hiring a postpartum doula is a must for every new parent!
I will tell anyone who will listen to get a postpartum doula (especially for twins) and pray they have the good fortune to land with someone as compassionate, smart, creative, professional and devoted as Emma. Hands down, our beginning months with our twins would have been an entirely different picture had we not engaged her. Without her steady presence in my fourth trimester my attachment with my babies would not have been so deep, my mental health would not have been as strong and my marriage would not be so intact. Emma came for 2-3 overnight shifts in the beginning, then two, then one and then eventually we graduated from night shifts :) She now comes for short day shifts here and there to keep life outside babies humming along. For me, the GREATEST gift of having a postpartum doula was the unwavering support in my journey towards breastfeeding my twins. After a hazy and pretty hairy whirlwind of syringe and bottle feeding, donor milk, pumping pumping pumping (and more pumping) I was able to breastfeed my twins. Emma was by my side the whole time. It was important to have someone who wasn't related to me to be there. She never judged, she always validated me and she worked with me to get creative as all the many challenges of breastfeeding twins arose. Cash in those RRSPs, sell your fancy road bikes, dip into your savings, take out little loan. TWIN PARENTS NEED POSTPARTUM DOULAS.
We hired Emma as our doula for the birth of our first child, and were so happy that we did! During the labour, Emma brought a wonderful calm, warm and loving energy into our birth space. She helped to keep me physically comfortable with hip squeezes and touch and anything else I needed, and her consonant positive affirmations helped to keep me focused and confident throughout the labour. During moments of fear and doubt, she calmly talked me through and got me back on track. My partner also appreciated having her guidance in supporting me. We had planned a home birth, but ended up needing a hospital transfer, as I had some difficulty during the pushing stage and needed to get oxytocin. Having Emma there with us made for a smooth transition, and having her continual emotional support was invaluable, as at the hospital our midwife got busy with paperwork and the nurse needed to attend to the IV drip and fetal monitor. Having had both the home and hospital experience in this birth, I can see how valuable Emma's presence was in both settings. My birth experience was an altogether positive one, as I felt loved, supported and respected throughout. Everybody on the birth team played a key role, and I am so grateful that Emma was part of it. We also appreciated Emma's postpartum visits - it was great to have the extra support as we adjusted to life with our newborn. I especially appreciated the information she provided on breastfeeding and just getting confirmation that what we were experiencing was all very normal! Thank you, Emma!

Emma and her team are absolutely amazing. It was such a treat to have them around in the early days of mothering twins! I felt so comfortable having them around the house and was so confident in their abilities. I miss having them around and would highly recommend them to others!
Emma is amazing! She was so supportive throughout the birth and beyond. Her wealth of knowledge, compassion and her intuitive nature was exactly what we needed, while her ease and grace was beyond measure as we welcomed our new addition to the world. We were lucky enough to have Emma support our family postpartum as well. She helped us through our first night at home which is something I would highly recommend to any new family. More than just part of our birthing team, “Auntie Em” has quite honestly become like family to us. She is the best and we absolutely love her!
My partner and I feel incredibly lucky to have had Emma as our guide through the birthing process.
Her kind, calm demeanour and her level of knowledge gave us both a great deal of confidence. The day of labour and delivery could not have gone more smoothly because Emma's presence allowed Nancy to fully focus on the process she was in.
Emma's fluency in French gave us peace of mind - knowing that quick, tough decisions may need to be made in the delivery room and that she would be able to walk us through our options clearly - whatever the circumstances. Our nurse couldn't believe we only met her once before that day and told us she thought we were long time friends.
I will be giving Emma my highest possible recommendation to every expecting couple I know.
When I found out I was pregnant with triplets I was excited, but also completely terrified. One of the first things I thought of was how would I ever sleep again! I immediately went on a search to see where I could find the best overnight help. From the first email and phone call with Marlo I felt confident I had found the team I needed to help me get through the first few months. Marlo is wonderful and organized a rockstar team to help us survive at home. Arti, Savannah and Aimee have all been absolutely amazing! I felt immediate trust in each of them to watch, feed, and cuddle my babies so I could get a few hours of much needed rest. They are all so caring, warm and knowledgeable. In the moments I started to feel overwhelmed I knew I could count on them to listen to my frustrations and fears and help me navigate caring for 3 babies. They each brought with them wonderful experience and always had answers to my many questions. Now as I venture more on my own I feel so lucky to have had their support and guidance over the last few months.
Michelle did an amazing job with my placenta encapsulation. She was super fast and she even picked up the placenta and delivered the pills. Plus, the pills are magic - bleeding stops way, way faster, increases milk production and evens out your moods. I've had two babies without the pills and two babies with and I can say that they cut my recovery time in half. Totally worth it!!!
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had Emma by our side for the birth of our second baby. Living in BC with no family in the province, we were looking for a doula who didn't just have the knowledge and expertise to lead us through the birth and postpartum period, but would also give us the unconditional and nonjudgmental support that we would have otherwise been looking for from our family. It was an admittedly high bar, but Emma was all of that and more. She offered me support that I didn't even know I needed. In one particular moment of chaos and urgency, Emma's calm direction somehow cut through the noise and got me to do exactly what needed doing. Our nurses at LGH were fabulous, but the consistent presence of Emma's confidence and competence was a game changer. I know my labour would have been longer and harder without her. Thank you Emma!
Yvette created an incredible menu for a month of meals after I had my baby. She was such a godsend! She offered delicious choices and customized anything according to our dietary needs. Each week was new and different and delicious! You can really taste the love in the food.
I had a solid birth plan. With the help of my Doula and midwife, I was going to birth in a birthing pool, in my apartment, without any drugs, and as far far away from the hospital as possible. It was going to be beautiful! When my water broke, meconium showed up in the water, and that plan was thrown out of the window, as I rushed to the hospital. Having Emma there helping me and my fiancé cope with the stress of being in the hospital, and helping me get through pain, really eased our minds, and made me feel like I was back in control of my birthing experience. Emma had a very gentle way of helping me understand the profound strength of my body, how to breathe, and gave me helpful coping tactics and information throughout my labor. She also helped my fiancé help me, and relieved him when he got tired. In the end, my midwife and Emma successfully got me through my labor without drugs, just like I wanted. I walked out of the hospital only hours after the birth, with a healthy baby.

We were very happy with the postpartum night support we received through Bunky Bambino. Tamara was incredible at enabling both myself and my husband to get a good night's sleep. She also provided great advice on the postpartum transition, including lactation support, newborn cues, baby-wearing, and taking care of ourselves. The administrative end of Bunky Bambino was very smooth and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend their services.
We were shooting in the dark looking for help with our newborn postpartum. When we contacted BB, we were matched with Savannah very quickly. We didn’t know what to expect and we were skeptical at first and we thought “oh well, if this doesn’t work out, we can always continue looking”. Much to our surprise, everything changed instantly for the better from day one. Having Savannah at our home, with her knowledge, experience and professionalism, to help us has been one of the best thing that has happened to us since the birth of our son. Since day one, Savannah shared a lot of her experience with us and gave us a lot of encouragement to live our lives as “normal people”. She gave us confidence to bring our newborn outside as a family. She gave us all much needed rest and we can’t imagine a week go by without her around. Big thank you to Marlo and Savannah~ Great work!
We hired Emma to help us and our 3-month-old baby for our 3-day wedding on Galiano island. I truly don't know what we would have done without her. She took great care of our little guy, which allowed us and our family members to actually enjoy the festivities. She definitely knows what she is doing around babies and it shows in her relaxed and confident attitude with our son. He loved her! Also, she had lots of great baby-related tips for us which we found really helpful as new parents.

We booked Bunky Bambino last minute for an out of town birth. Each person that came to watch our newborn was warm kind and adored our baby. We couldn’t have been more happy with them. We would highly recommend Bunky Bambino to anyone who asked us.
We've had the pleasure of having Yvette's amazing cooking services for over a year now. After being in multiple car accidents and dealing with chronic pain I've been having issues with prepping food and cooking and Yvette's tasty healthy meals have been a lifesaver for our family. I would highly recommend her services for anyone looking for extra time in the week, needing help for similar reasons as I need it or just for a treat. She makes the whole process run smoothly and leaves the place clean when leaving, and her recipes are simply wonderful. We're so lucky to have come across her. Thank you for everything Yvette!!

We reached out to Marlo and Bunky Bambino when our daughter was born and we were looking for some postpartum support. We were hooked up with Savannah, who was fantastic! She helped around the house, and most importantly, let me take some much needed naps in the early weeks. Having the support of a postpartum doula was incredible- I recommend it to everyone!
Julia went above and beyond - she far exceeds my expectations of a doula. She is simply amazing! Transitioning to motherhood can be so overwhelming, but my husband and I are so glad to have Julia support and guide us through our new journey as we would be lost without her. Julia is truly remarkable - she’s so genuine and resourceful. We can’t wait to have Julia support us again in the future. Our only regret is not booking her sooner!
Two months after the birth of our twin boys, my husband and I were feeling the effects of the sleepless night and were in desperate need of support at night to help us get some much-needed sleep. We reached out to Bunky Bambino through a friend's recommendation and were connected with Josie. From the first night we met Josie, we knew we had someone we could trust implicitly with our newborns while we slept. We have only known Josie a few weeks but she has shown us, especially our boys, so much warmth, care and attention that it feels like we have known her for much longer! Not only is she conscientious and thorough in her work, she is thoughtful and proactive, often going above and beyond to help make our nights and days a little easier. We are so lucky to have been connected with Josie and look forward to working with her over the next few weeks!

The ladies with Bunky Bambino (Marlo & Emma) were so incredible throughout our entire pregnancy, labour and into postpartum. Their experience speaks volumes and really helped us understand the entire process and what to expect, especially during labour where things can get very intense and overwhelming. They were there for us day and night when we needed it the most and we couldn't be happier to have had them with us along the way. We would 100% recommend Bunky Bambino to anyone looking for support throughout pregnancy. If you're not too sure, make sure to at minimum meet with them for a coffee to talk things over and ask questions to make your own decision. A huge thank you ladies of Bunky Bambino for all that you did for us. We are so appreciative and forever grateful. :-)

When I was pregnant with my first son, a friend recommended hiring a postpartum doula and said it was the best money she'd spent when her kids were born. I hired Marlo, and I feel exactly the same way. She eased the transition into parenthood so well, from helping me set up the changing stations in the house more efficiently, to coaching me through the first couple of weeks of breastfeeding.
Each time she came, she would throw in some laundry, prepare me a snack and something to drink, and calmly but efficiently take care of dozens of details so I could either focus on the baby or take care of myself (i.e. shower and nap).
Cheerful, supportive, encouraging and always able to provide information without being overly attached to one particular parenting philosophy – Marlo is an absolute gem and I've recommended her to everyone I know when they've been on the cusp of new parenthood.
We had a great experience with Bunky Bambino! We had my placenta encapsulated and also received some lovely prints and cord keepsakes! We also purchased the postpartum Doula hours and loved having the extra hands here to help us. Being a new parent (or a parent in general!) is tough and having help is crucial. I would hands down recommend them for any one I know who is growing their family.
Emma worked with us during labour/delivery and postpartum following the birth of our twins. During labour and delivery she stayed by my side and was a very reassuring and calming presence throughout a long labour and an eventual emergency c-section.
Then, her support for 3 months postpartum was hugely invaluable. We would not have made it through that postpartum time without her! She was with us from 10 pm - 6 am several nights a week. She always listened to what I was struggling with, made great suggestions, fed the twins a bottle of pumped milk when I asked, brought me delicious snacks during nursing sessions, and was truly miraculous at settling both babies to sleep downstairs while I slept upstairs knowing they were in great hands (and I didn't have to listen to them grunt and groan in their sleep, so I actually managed to have restful stretches of sleep!). While we all slept, Emma made lactation cookies, prepped food for the next night's dinner, washed dishes, folded laundry...you name it! Any quiet chores that I needed help with that night. She also gave some extra special attention to our older daughter one morning when she woke up before Emma left - my daughter still talks about how much she liked Emma even now 3+ months later!
Emma's sensitive, caring nature and her seemingly effortless confidence and ability with newborns really made us feel supported throughout those early days / months. Can't recommend her enough!
The best thing we did in preparing for our twins was booking this service! Josie was an angel and helped us survive the first months. I felt very supported and cared for. I would highly recommend this service to all new parents.
I was so fortunate to have Julia as my birth and Postpartum Doula! Leading up to the birth, Julia made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed around her. She really listened to what I had to say, and she allowed me to voice the concerns and fears that I was having. She guided my husband and I while we made a birth and postpartum plan. Knowing that birth is unpredictable, the plan allowed us to all be on the same page, working as a team. Julia was the best birthing coach I could have asked for. She was by my side the entire time (which is what I needed) working together with my husband. She offered continuous support, cheered me on and gave me the confidence that I needed. She reassured me that I was capable, she massaged my lower back, she positioned me on the birth ball, she hydrated me, she nourished me, she encouraged me, she believed in me. She worked with my husband and gave us our space at just the right time. The list goes on and on! Because of Julia, I was empowered to have a natural water birth... and that’s exactly what I had. It was because of her ongoing support, physical touch/ adjustments and genuine care that I had such an amazing birth. Julia’s sweet, loving and caring personality made her the right fit. Her knowledge about birth and postpartum care was so helpful. I can’t wait to have Julia as my Doula for my second child! Thanks Julia!!
My husband, my son Malakyte and I have had the pleasure of Chloe’s skills as a postpartum doula. My birth was rather intense and I couldn’t walk for a couple weeks after my son’s birth. Chloe was so generous enough to help us out during this tough time on my road to recovery. She is very thorough, kind, personable and she goes above and beyond in her work. She went above and beyond when I had to bring our son to the hospital because he was sick. She offered to come with me to help out because my husband was still at work and even though I told her she didn’t have to, she did anyway and was more than happy to come. During her shifts she always offers to clean, cook, do laundry, or do anything you would like her to do while watching your baby. I don’t know how she does it, but she can multitask like a champ! Chloe is also very professional, great with our son and she’s always prompt. I would highly recommend Chloe as a doula and look forward to her continued support with our family! Thanks Chloe for all you do for us!

Having Julia support me during my birth was a decision I am so grateful I made. Her positive and calming energy was everything I needed that day. I know for a fact that I could not have had a non-medicated birth without her and my husband. I also was thankful she was an advocate for my wishes when I could not communicate them properly to the doctors. Julia is a warm, loving person that makes you comfortable the instant you meet her. I couldn't recommend her enough.

Yvette has been cooking for us off and on for almost two years. We are a busy family looking for a healthy alternative to ordering-in on those days when our schedule is jam-packed. Yvette’s food is amazing, healthy and always delicious. She has also introduced us to a number of great meals that we would not have discovered on our own. Yvette has been a pleasure to work with and we would (and have) highly recommend her.
How do people give birth without Bunky Bambino? Such wonderful support, I truly don't know how we would have done it without Emma's unwavering calm and kind reassurance. Emma and Marlo bring a wealth of knowledge, that sets your mind at ease from the very first meeting. Thank you Bunky Bambino.
Josie offered so much emotional support and information for me after my miscarriage. At a time when I was devastated, I couldn’t have felt more cared for, supported, and validated. I wasn’t alone. Additionally, she provided me with a list of local resources and articles that eased my mind and helped me make some decisions on what would come next. I have whole-hearted faith in Josie’s caregiving and knowledge.
We would highly recommend Bri as a doula. She is a lovely, kind and grounded person who is well trained in her field. She went over and above the call of duty for us, especially in the postpartum period when our needs were more than anticipated. She was hardworking, responsive, intuitive and holistic in her care, and knew how to find the balance between being there for us and also giving us the space we needed during such a sensitive time. She was very thorough and incredibly supportive. Anybody would be lucky to have her as a doula.
Yvette is an amazing cook and this service is a game changer. I highly recommend it and her. We had the pleasure of this experience and I've also gifted it a few times with reviews.
We moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver with a 4 week old and needed support, as we did not have any family or friends to help us. We had reservations about opening our home to someone we didn't know and were determined to find someone we could completely trust. After interviewing several nannies from different agencies, and not finding the right fit, I reached out to Marlo to inquire about a postpartum doula. Marlo is so nurturing and responsive -- I trusted her immediately. Her approach felt personal, and not corporate, which I appreciated. Marlo sent us Annie, whom we fell in love with right away. Annie has an incredible background in childcare, child development, birth, and lactation (the list goes on). She is punctual, dependable and communicative. From the moment she entered our home, I could feel that her kind and gentle energy was a match for our baby. Annie is wonderful with him -- feeding, calming, playing, reading, engaging. She respects our schedule and parenting approach while also bringing all sorts of wonderful suggestions that have helped our baby grow. She has also helped us keep our household running as we've juggled work schedules and a new baby. I don't know what we'd do without her! I cannot recommend Bunky Bambino highly enough. They're the best.
Emma is fantastic. We hired Emma as a postpartum doula for our son Ethan - and she was with us from week one onwards. We call Emma the baby whisperer - she arrived and it was like an angel appeared. She was so calm, and reassuring and so loving - exactly what we needed in such a confusing, sleep deprived crazy time. We love her so much, and still work with her 6 months later! Thank you Emma xoxox

Bri is a calming presence when it is needed most, her ability to support my family during our postpartum with our second child was a blessing. She's a great doula and also a fantastic listener. She has a true passion for the work that she does which shows through her care. Entering Parenthood can be a difficult and testing transition but with Bri's support I felt confident in transitioning into my role as a mama of two under two!
Arti helped us a lot when my son was born. We were first time parents, and did not know much about newborn and Arti came over and helped us with everything. She is a type of person that you can trust hundred percent and her caring and warm personality and deep knowledge of postpartum issues made our journey much easier. She helped us with everything from breastfeeding to bathing our son. We would have been lost without her help. I would highly recommend her services
Annie has been such a help during the postpartum period! She is clearly very experienced with infants. In addition to helping care for our baby she has also managed to help with so much around the house. We highly recommend Bunky Bambino.
For all new mothers I would highly recommend Marlo and her team of Doulas, specifically Aimee who we were so fortunate to have. She was invaluable... Professional, caring and compassionate. Aimee helped us when our little boy was just a few weeks old to a little over 4 months. She was amazing and words can not express the gratitude to her for all that she did for us. She herself is a mother of 4 (including a set of twins) therefore has immense experience. To list a few things, she helped me with breastfeeding, to making dinners, emotional support, sleep training, to wrapping the nursery with foil to black out the extra light. My only wish was to still have her with us as our little boy absolutely loved her. Thank you so very much Marlo and Aimee for everything you did for us.
I could not have picked a better doula to be present for the birth of my son. Allie was there for me from the very beginning of my pregnancy right until the delivery and beyond that. She answered every question and was more than accommodating of me not living in the same city! She made sure not only I but also my support people were as ready as possible for the event. Periodically she was checking in on me making sure if I had any concerns or questions that they were answered. Allie is very evidence-based and this spoke to me. I like concrete information and research I can read and trust. When I had questions Allie provided credible sources I could go over and make informed choices with. If she didn't immediately have sources she had no problem putting the work in to get me what I was looking for. When my labour started I can honestly say that I had an absolute need for her to be there. She was the person I trusted during this incredibly vulnerable time. Without her support, I do not know if I would have been able to successfully get through my home birth. She did everything possible to support me and make my first night with my new baby so successful. From making sure both me and my baby ate to helping my partner clean up. In the weeks following the birth, her support remained the same. I am so blessed to say that Allie now has a special place in our family. When I decide to do this crazy thing again I will most definitely be using her as my doula.
After my first meeting with Arti I was positive that she was who I wanted to have in my home, sharing the journey of first time parenthood with my husband and me. She is kind, patient, honest, relatable, knowledgeable and has a refreshing sense of humour. She never made me feel stupid or naive (even though I can say now that I was), but instead shared her expertise with me in a way that made me feel confident. I am admittedly an introvert and was initially nervous about having someone in my home, but Arti made that so easy. We chatted for hours about anything and everything and she put me at ease at a time when life was anything but easy. I will absolutely reach out to Arti again if the opportunity arises and 100% recommend her to anyone looking to work with a doula!
Emma is such a lovely soul. She came into our home after the birth of our second child to help with my postpartum care. When she came in, she went right to work and started tidying and preparing food. She was also a wonderful help with my older daughter and kept her busy so I could rest with the baby. I highly recommend Emma's services!
I wasn't too sure that I needed a postpartum doula but given this was a first baby and we have no family locally, I decided to give it a go. You can never have too much support right? I am so thankful I did, Aimee Odegard was just incredible. To be honest, I didn't appreciate just how hard giving birth would be and how overwhelming it was bringing our little guy home, both physically and emotionally. Aimee was like a breath of fresh air. She listened, answered all of my questions and gave a lot of reassurance. I felt absolute trust in her and when I went to bed for some rest, I didn't hear a peep. She is a baby whisperer!
